Title: QuantumSimulation with Alkaline-Earth Atoms

Abstract:
In this talk, I will firstly review the recent advance of the degenerate alkaline-earth atoms. Then I show the scheme of orbital Feshbach resonance whichcan be used to tune the interaction strength between alkaline-earth atoms. Since the existence of spin-exchange interaction, alkaline-earth atomic gas becomes the ideal platform to simulation Kondo model in cold atom physics. I will show that we can use confinement induced resonance in mixed dimension to enhance the spin-exchange interaction, which may make the Kondo temperature to be achievable in current experiment.

About the Speaker:
张仁,2014年在中国人民大学获得物理学博士学位,2014年至2017年在清华大学高等研究院从事博士后研究工作,现为西安交通大学应用物理系副教授。目前从事冷原子气体的理论研究,与合作者提出碱土金属原子气体中的Orbital Feshbach resonance[PRL,115,135301]并得到实验证实[PRL,115,265301; PRL,115,265302]。用冷原子模拟近藤模型,张仁与其合作者也做出了有影响力的工作[PRA,93,043601; PRA,93,063605],部分理论预言已得到实验证实[arXiv: 1708.03810]。
