Title: Beyond perturbation theory

Abstract:
20th century has been a glorious period for physics with amazing developments in both theories and experiments.  Even very accurate experiments have been understood based on perturbation computations.  However, we are confronting now at new phenomena which can not be explained by perturbation theories.  We need to establish theoretical framework which allows us to go beyond.  In this colloquium, I will explain both successes and limitations of perturbation theories.  And introduce two examples, one in condensed matter system and the other in string theory, how "Integrability" can contribute to this purpose.
