1D  Bosons or Fermions in a power trap with repulsive delta function  interaction

Abstract

I will report on the recent works cooperated with Professor Chen Ning  Yang. The works are on the coldatom physics.

An N Boson or Fermion system in a 1D power trap  |x|a/2 (including the harmonic trap when a = 2) with  repulsive delta function interparticle interaction  is  studied. In terms of the Thomas-Fermi method and the results for the trapless  system obtained by Lieb and Liniger for Bosons in 1963 and Yang for Fermions in  1967, we calculated numerically the limit of the ground state energy  E/N(3a+2)/(a+2) and the limit of the density  at fixed x/N2/(a+2),  as  with fixed  Na/(a+2)/g for the Boson system, or with fixed  Na/(a+2)/g and fixed per particle spin J/N for the  Fermion system.
