Title: Status and Challenges of Dark Matter Direct Detection
Abstract:
Uncovering the particle nature of dark matter is one of the most challenging
problems in physics today. By using low background underground detectors, dark
matter may be detected via their collision with the atoms. Experimental
sensitivity has been improved by more than one order of magnitude in the last
decade. However, we still don’t have a clear signal from dark matter. In this
talk, I will review the most advanced detection technology and the current
experimental progress on the direct detection of dark matter. I will also
discuss future challenges.
