报告题目： An Introduction to Chiral Magnetic Effect

报告摘要：
Chiral Magnetic Effect is a new effect in gauge fields resulting from topological properties of the gauge fields. It has broad implications across many disciplines such as condensed matter and nuclear physics. In this seminar I will give a brief introduction to the physics of the chiral magnetic effect in heavy ion collisions as well as in Dirac and Weyl semi-metals. The emphasis is put on the topological aspects of gauge fields and chiral anomaly. 

报告人简介：
王群教授，1997年在山东大学获得粒子物理与核物理专业的理学博士；1991--2000年在山东大学物理系任讲师和副教授；2000年获得教育部高等学校自然科学二等奖；2000--2003年在德国法兰克福大学理论物理研究所任洪堡访问学者；2003—2005年在德国法兰克福大学理论物理研究所和德国国家重离子实验室联合研究计划(GSI Virtual Institute)任访问教授；2014年美国布鲁克海文国家实验室物理部高级访问学者；2005年起任中国科技大学近代物理系教授；2007--2011年入选中国科学院百人计划；2012--2015年获国家杰出青年基金资助。研究领域是中高能核物理理论，研究方向是量子色动力学在热密夸克物质中的应用，包括强耦合夸克物质性质、高密夸克物质性质、解禁闭相变、夸克胶子等离子体信号、流体动力学在中高能重离子碰撞的应用等。
